About The Position

The JOC Inspector is responsible for overseeing and verifying the compliance of contracted projects and services. This role often involves a combination of fieldwork and administrative duties to ensure all aspects of a contract are fulfilled satisfactorily. Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on inspection experience supporting projects of similar scope and complexity.
  • Bachelors in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar discipline is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, standards, equipment, quality and safety per State and Federal requirements.
  • Candidate should have strong computing skills including competency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Excel, Word and SharePoint.
  • Ability to interpret plans, specifications, special provisions, and other contract documents.
  • Ability to independently identify potential problems and propose solutions.
  • Sufficient communication skills both written and oral.
  • Valid California Class C driver’s license.
  • Position is on-site in Santa Clara County.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze contract specifications and requirements.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure work meets contract terms.
  • Document and report on project progress and adherence to contract.
  • Identify and report any discrepancies or non-compliance issues.
  • Coordinate with contractors and project managers to resolve issues.
  • Ensure all safety and regulatory standards are met.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports and documentation.
  • Verify that materials and equipment comply with the contract requirements.
  • Attend project meetings to discuss contract-related matters.
  • Assist in the review and approval of contractor invoices and payments.
