About The Position

destinationone Consulting is working with a well-established public sector organization in the housing and community services space to recruit a Jobs Plus Job Developer. This role is part of a high-impact, federally supported initiative focused on increasing employment outcomes and economic mobility within a large public housing community. The successful candidate will play a key role in connecting residents to meaningful employment opportunities while building strong partnerships with employers and community stakeholders. Position Overview The Jobs Plus Job Developer is responsible for driving employment outcomes for program participants through employer engagement, job placement, and ongoing support. The role works at the intersection of workforce development, community outreach, and economic inclusion. This position supports a targeted housing community with over 1,000 residents, where employment access and economic participation are key priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Social Work, or a related human services field
  • Experience in workforce development, community outreach, case management, or employment services
  • Proven ability to build relationships with employers and community partners
  • Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter with strong initiative and accountability
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a broader team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work with databases and tracking systems
  • Comfortable using digital platforms for outreach and engagement

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting individuals facing barriers to employment is strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of local labor market dynamics and employment resources is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, industry partners, and local businesses to understand hiring needs and create employment pathways
  • Identify and secure job placements, internships, and work experience opportunities for program participants
  • Assess participant readiness for employment and provide guidance on job search strategies and career pathways
  • Match candidates with appropriate employment opportunities and facilitate referrals
  • Maintain ongoing communication with employers and participants to monitor placement success and retention
  • Collaborate with workforce development agencies and career centers to align employment initiatives
  • Coordinate and support employment-related programming and activities
  • Promote program awareness through community outreach, presentations, and marketing efforts including digital and social channels
  • Support the development of partnerships with community organizations and stakeholders to enhance program impact
  • Track outcomes, maintain records, and support reporting requirements
