About The Position

The Job Specialist III position involves interviewing customers for unemployment insurance programs, explaining program policies and procedures, and providing customer assistance. Requirements

  • Three years of full-time or equivalent part-time professional or paraprofessional experience in personnel interviewing, recruitment, job placement, or related fields.
  • At least one year of experience in a professional capacity.
  • An Associate's degree may substitute for one year of experience; a Bachelor's degree may substitute for two years; a graduate degree in relevant fields may substitute for required experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, Cantonese, Mandarin, and/or Cape Verdean is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interview customers of agency unemployment insurance (UI) programs to determine eligibility.
  • Explain program policies and procedures to customers by telephone or in person.
  • Refer customers to agency services based on gathered data.
  • Interact professionally with customers and operate computers and peripheral equipment.
  • Perform related duties such as data entry, statistical calculations, and creating reports.
