About The Position

The Job Developer position involves securing jobs, developing, and coordinating job training and placement programs for public assistance recipients enrolled in vocational training. The role requires substantial fieldwork and the ability to use judgment in securing employment opportunities. The position operates under general supervision and includes varied duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university.
• Two years of satisfactory experience in conducting employment interviews, developing jobs, providing occupational guidance, providing occupational referrals, selecting personnel, placing personnel, researching employment programs, planning employment programs, and/or conducting occupational training in a formal training program.
• Continuing possession of an appropriate class, valid Driver License issued by the State of New York.
• Must have an operable automobile available for use.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in Industrial Psychology, Social Work, Public or Business Administration, Community Development or related field may be substituted for one year of the experience.
• Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops leads to identify possible contractors for the employment of public assistance recipients.
• Confers with prospective employers to promote employment of vocational training program participants.
• Follows up with employers to determine program effectiveness.
• Prepares periodic reports.
