The Job Developer is responsible for developing and maintaining strategic, professional relationships with employers across the private, public, nonprofit, and faith-based sectors to promote employment opportunities for participants referred by the District of Columbia’s Department of Human Services (DHS). Through consistent and values-driven engagement, the Job Developer serves as one of the organization’s key representatives to the business community—ensuring all outreach reflects Fedcap’s mission, program goals, and commitment to fostering economic mobility. At the same time, the Job Developer works directly with participants to restore confidence, build self-efficacy, and reinforce future orientation. They help participants understand their unique strengths, address employment barriers, and develop a clear sense of agency in the job search process. Success in this role requires both strategic market insight and empathetic customer coaching, bridging the gap between business needs and human potential.
