About The Position

The Job Developer serves as a Case Manager for the Virginia Initiative for Education and Work (VIEW) program, focusing on assisting participants in TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) and SNAPET programs. The role involves providing targeted support to help participants transition from assistance to self-sufficiency through case management, job training, and employment opportunities. The Job Developer will assess participants' needs, develop individualized plans, and work collaboratively with community partners to facilitate job readiness and sustained employment.

Requirements

  • Four (4) year degree in social work or other relevant field; relevant master's level degree preferred.
  • One (1) year of relevant experience preferred; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Valid driver's license to perform assigned duties at various locations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assessments and interviews to identify each participant's readiness for and barriers to employment.
  • Develop and implement case management plans incorporating VIEW program support services.
  • Address barriers and challenges to obtaining and maintaining employment.
  • Provide supportive services to eliminate barriers to employment and ensure client program mandates are met.
  • Counsel participants, monitor progress & compliance.
  • Conduct monthly follow-ups with clients.
  • Work with employers and community partners to develop training and employment opportunities for clients.
  • Maintain knowledge of VIEW program policy and effectively explain program requirements.
  • Participate in unit, division, agency & community meetings and on committees and task forces related to the work of the department.
  • Participate in shelter team operations as designated by the Emergency Operations Center.
