The Urban League of Rochester seeks a Job Developer/Apprenticeship Coordinator for Workforce Development programs. Programs provide TASC preparation, classroom and hands-on construction training, personal development activities, and job placement assistance to disadvantaged out-of-school youth ages 18 to 24. Provide individualized academic and vocational counseling and guide participants in developing individualized career pathways. Recruit participants that have a strong interest in apprenticeship opportunities. Provide pathways for direct placement into apprenticeship opportunities. Create and develop effective relationships with employers and apprenticeship programs. Facilitate work readiness training with participants. Organize employer advisory group meetings. Develop job positions in the private sector suited to applicants’ needs. Assess participants’ skill levels and provide counseling to assist in realistic employment plans commensurate with skill levels and experience. Secure accurate job descriptions for job openings and match individuals' skills and qualifications to the job. Schedule employment interviews for participants. Conduct follow-up on placements to determine participants' progress and job retention. Provide follow-up counseling when requested by either employer or participant after job placement. Maintain necessary records to ensure effective referral and placement. Complete reports that track progress. Attend Urban League of Rochester events and fundraising functions. Perform other relevant duties as assigned by supervisor.
