Position Overview: The Job Cost ing Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s commercial assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities to ensure accuracy, and resolves account discrepancies. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Maintain intricate knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) Manage the job costing process by ensuring all job costs are captured and confirming that job costs are matched with in-period revenue Ensure revenue is being recognized in compliance with GAAP Prepare monthly operational reports Assist the Accounts P ayable team with any issues that affect the ledger Reconcile bank accounts monthly ; verify deposits and withdrawals Partner with Operations to allocate labor costs per job Record any required accruals, deferrals, depreciation , amortization , and inter-company entries Manage commission expense accrual s and payments File tax forms and facilitate related payments for federal, state and local governments Monitor accounts receivable aging and collections ; escalate collection issues to management Review the financial statements for accuracy and completeness Prepare commentary on the financial statements and present financial results to leadership Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts Support the external audit process through gathering necessary account information and documents required by the auditors Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies , and issues of non-compliance
