A position as a Job Coach entails supporting people with disabilities to learn, to accommodate, and perform their work duties in their place of employment. A Job Coach may work with individuals one-on-one and/or in a small group setting. A Job Coach also helps individuals develop interpersonal skills necessary in the workplace. The Job Coach will assess the individual’s strengths and needs or may rely on a completed assessment. A Job Coach may visit the place of employment to understand the requirements of the job and work environment. This position will work with an individual both in and outside of the workplace, as it is important to assist and prepare the individual for the workplace in advance.
