Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and willingness to travel as needed
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
  • Strong verbal, written communication, basic math, and computer skills
  • Physical ability to lift 20 lbs, stand, walk, bend, kneel, sit for prolonged periods, and handle equipment as needed
  • Demonstrated flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse individuals
  • Interest and willingness to learn more about supporting adults with developmental disabilities

Responsibilities

  • Establish trusting, collaborative relationships with clients to support job retention and success.
  • Provide personalized job coaching, facilitating effective communication between clients, employers, and coworkers.
  • Support clients in using various transportation methods to and from their workplaces.
  • Assess client skills and proficiency in job tasks, offering targeted coaching and strategies to achieve job stabilization and independence.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation, including job coaching reports and monthly employer timesheets.
  • Respect and uphold client confidentiality preferences, particularly regarding the disclosure of personal or disability-related information.
  • Collaborate regularly with support teams, family members, and community resources to coordinate comprehensive employment support.
  • Encourage clients to consider long-term employment goals, strengths, cultural perspectives, and vocational aspirations.
  • Facilitate access to educational resources and further vocational training opportunities for interested clients.
