Job Coach, MCRD Food Services
About The Position
At The Arc of San Diego, we empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live independently and achieve their goals. We’re looking for Job Coaches to support The Arc of San Diego’s food service employment program at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot (Military site, MCRD) location. As a Job Coach at the MCRD food service program, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they work in a food service environment. Your primary responsibility will be to supervise and train clients, ensuring they successfully complete their tasks while meeting the required standards of quality and productivity. You will also help clients develop their vocational skills and integrate into the workplace, fostering positive relationships with staff and stakeholders at the site. Additionally, you will be responsible for documenting client progress, providing transportation to and from the worksite, and collaborating with a dedicated team to enhance service delivery and client outcomes.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- One (1) year of experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
- Valid California Driver’s License, auto insurance, and a clean driving record.
Nice To Haves
- Are bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Have basic computer skills and familiarity with mobile devices.
- Have experience with case management systems (Therap preferred).
Responsibilities
- Supervise and provide job coaching support to individuals with disabilities as they work at the MCRD site.
- Provide training and guidance to help clients develop job skills and meet work tasks as required by the Military and Sodexo.
- Assist clients in following their Individual Service Plans (ISP) to promote independence.
- Build positive relationships with clients, coworkers, and site staff.
- Monitor and document client progress using the Therap system.
- Ensure client safety and support them in daily activities.
