About The Position

The Job Coach is responsible for assisting participants with disabilities with training, case management, and support while they perform work in one of Goodwill’s retail store locations. This role involves cultivating partnerships and relationships with employers and service agencies in the local communities serviced by Goodwill to best serve participants. The Job Coach assists with meeting program goals and outcomes, while also ensuring personal growth for program participants within the work environment. This position works closely with the District Lead to accomplish program goals.

Requirements

  • A combination of education and relevant work experience that aligns with the duties of this position.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with disabilities and understand and communicate with diverse groups.
  • Ability to motivate and assist individuals in performing work.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Ability to maintain Office of Inspector General and Rule 50 training.
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively perform all functions of the job.
  • Ability to stand for 4-6 hours per shift.
  • Ability to lift 15-25 pounds.
  • Full range of motion needed, as well as repetitive use of hands and feet needed for on-the-job employment support.
  • Ability to bend, twist, and physically support the coaching process.
  • Exercise strong and sound judgment in working with participants with disabilities.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Must be compassionate, reliable, trustworthy, and have the ability to maintain high confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team setting.
  • Ability to be adaptable and flexible with participants' needs.

Responsibilities

  • Work with individuals with disabilities to coach and motivate to perform work successfully.
  • Instruct participants in job seeking and job retention skills.
  • Create effective solutions and accommodations for individuals with disabilities.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor production goal progress and job training.
  • Prepare workstations for daily work activities.
  • Develop Task Analysis and provide training for participants on their job tasks.
  • Model good work habits and positive attitude.
  • Demonstrate the expectations.
  • Work proactively with retail store staff and ensure outcomes align with retail goals.
  • Manage work assigned to participants and assist if needed.
  • Develop production goals for participant’s role and track progress.
  • Create and manage detailed case notes in the ETO database, ensuring all data is maintained in a timely manner.
  • Enforce program guidelines and following policies.
  • Step in and complete retail duties when Store Associates call off.
  • Move Gaylords and ensure product is ready for Books and Media processing.
  • Live Goodwill’s values through saying thank you, having fun, respecting resources, valuing every voice and thinking first.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
