We’re looking for a temporary full-time Direct Support Professional/Job Coach to work with our clients that have intellectual and developmental disabilities in Pendleton, Hermiston, and Milton-Freewater over the next 6 months. Depending on program needs, this may become a permanent position. This is a full-time job and you are eligible for overtime. A company vehicle is provided for work related travel and client transportation.

Assist clients with activities of daily living including bathroom use and personal hygiene
Support client employment and do job coaching (+$1 per hour when job coaching)
Provide safe, respectful, and compassionate care
Document client progress accurately on a computer
Follow safety and emergency protocols
Use adaptive equipment and transport clients as needed (Company Vehicle provided)
Plan and accompany clients on community outings and activities
Administer client medications per the prescription
Work in Pendleton, Hermiston, and Milton-Freewater per program needs

Must be over the age of 18 years old
Must pass a pre-employment drug test
Must pass a pre-employment driving records screening
Must have a valid driver's license that is insurable by HPI's auto insurance provider (Driving Required Position)
Must pass a pre-employment background check by Oregon DHS (renewed every 2 years)
Must be able to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal)
Basic computer skills (Typing, email, printer/copier).
Strong communication in English (written, verbal)
Ability to remain calm in a chaotic environment
Teamwork and creative thinking
Punctuality and organization
