Job Coach DSP Caregiver (day shift)
About The Position
Horizon Project provides support to adults (18+) with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and in the community. Essential Responsibilities and Duties include: Assist clients with activities of daily living including bathroom use and personal hygiene Support client employment and job coaching (+$1 per hour when job coaching) Provide safe, respectful, and compassionate care Document client progress accurately on a computer daily Follow safety and emergency protocols Use adaptive equipment and transport clients as needed (Company Vehicle provided) Plan daily activities for clients that meet their personal goals (reading, math, art) Accompany clients on outings to places like the bowling alley or the county fair Administer client medications accurately
Requirements
- Must be over the age of 18 years old
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must pass a pre-employment driving records screening
- Must have a valid driver's license that is insurable by HPI's auto insurance provider (Driving Required Position)
- Must pass a pre-employment background check by Oregon DHS (renewed every 2 years)
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal)
- Basic computer skills (Typing, email, printer/copier).
- Strong communication in English (written, verbal)
- Ability to remain calm in a chaotic environment
- Teamwork and creative thinking
- Punctuality and organization
Responsibilities
