The Model Based Systems Engineer will be part of the Modeling, Simulation, and Training team at the Joint Integrated Test and Training Center (JITTC-N) in Nellis AFB, NV. This role focuses on modeling training systems and providing on-site support for advanced tactics, training, and testing capabilities for government personnel. The engineer will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure system requirements are met and will utilize model-based systems engineering (MBSE) practices throughout the system life cycle.

  • Model training systems and support integration efforts on the Modeling, Simulation, and Training team.
  • Communicate and document system requirements, design, architecture, and performance using model-based reports, diagrams, charts, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with engineers, Subject Matter Experts, and managers across different disciplines to ensure system objectives are met.
  • Support system development, integration, operation, and maintenance phases using MBSE best practices and standards.
  • Manage and maintain the consistency, integrity, and traceability of system models and related artifacts throughout the system life cycle.
  • 9 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; 7 years with a Master's; 4 years with a PhD or Juris Doctorate; or 13 years relevant experience with a High School Diploma.
  • Experience as a Model Based System Engineer.
  • Open Management Group SysML certification.
  • Proficient in creating SysML models with Cameo Systems Modeler or similar tools.
  • Working knowledge of cloud architectures.
  • Proficient in creating reports and presentations with Microsoft Office 365 products and SysML diagrams.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and network schematics.
  • Active or current DoD TS/SCI Clearance.
  • Experience with modeling network architectures.
  • Experience with modeling cloud-based systems.
  • DoD 8570.01 Level II certification.
  • DoDAF experience preferred.
