About The Position

The Occupational Therapist at Jackson General Hospital is responsible for evaluating and treating patients who face challenges in performing daily tasks due to various physical, emotional, cognitive, and psychosocial conditions. This role involves working within an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care, develop treatment programs, and ensure effective rehabilitation interventions.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Current or temporary licensure in the state of West Virginia, or applicable state licensure where services will be performed.
• Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
• One year of experience in acute care, outpatient, SNF, or HH settings (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patient needs and develops treatment programs to minimize physical disabilities and pain.
• Provides coordinated patient care including assessment, expected outcomes, and rehabilitation interventions.
• Documents all treatments according to department policies and procedures.
• Submits accurate charges for services rendered utilizing the billing system via the patient's EMR.
• Supervises COTAs, students, and volunteers in their duties.
• Participates in the education and training of staff, students, patients, and family members.
