About The Position

The Jewelry Assistant Manager at Fred Meyer Jewelers plays a crucial role in supporting the store manager with daily operations and acting as a supervisor in their absence. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience at Fred Meyer and 1 year of jewelry sales experience, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Ability to pass a drug test.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and projects.
  • Completion of Diamond Council of America (DCA) courses within a year of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Management experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, First Place, Act, and Intranet.
  • Experience directing or participating on project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the store manager with daily tasks and operations.
  • Act as the supervisor in the absence of the store manager.
  • Maximize financial performance of the store.
  • Manage and motivate the sales team to achieve growth and sales targets.
  • Create emotional connections with customers through engagement and communication.
  • Achieve personal sales targets and drive sales initiatives.
  • Model Customer 1st behavior and encourage excellent customer service among associates.
  • Maintain profitability through sales and proper shrink and expense control.
  • Support the training and development of sales professionals.
  • Coordinate operations functions and display merchandise according to corporate plans.
  • Advise customers on jewelry quality, cuts, and value, assisting in selections.
  • Provide product knowledge and features to customers when presenting merchandise.
  • Estimate repairs and inspect/clean customer jewelry.
  • Perform watch battery replacements and band adjustments.
  • Suggest designs for custom jewelry and maintain inventory integrity.
  • Complete customer and associate incident reports and participate in inventory processes.
  • Assist with staff scheduling and maintain flexibility to work any shift.
