About The Position

Paid Internship opportunity for those with a sincere interest in gaining experience in social work, psychology, or special education with the JEVS Independence Network! The JEVS Independence Network program is located in Narberth, PA and is dedicated to supporting adults with developmental disabilities in their own home or community to build independence, explore new opportunities, develop strategies and grow skills important to sustaining long term independence and a rich and meaningful community life.

Requirements

• Dedicated, compassionate individuals who have a passion for mentoring others
• Minimum of High School diploma/GED
• Current educational pursuits in a field such as social work, psychology or special education
• Valid driver's license for at least one year prior to first day of employment

Responsibilities

• Guide and mentor individuals to achieve their full potential and independence
• Actively support engagement in the community — by providing support for individuals to serve as volunteers, engage in activities, use public transportation, patronize local businesses, and connect with others in their natural surroundings
• Facilitate group discussions and educational opportunities
• Provide customized services and transitional support to respond to the needs of each individual

Benefits

• The base pay for this internship is 16.35 hourly.
