About The Position

The JetVac Combo Unit & Hydrovac Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of combination sewer cleaning (jet/vac) units and hydrovac excavation trucks. This role performs industrial cleaning, hydro-excavation, storm and sanitary line cleaning, tank cleaning, and related services while maintaining strict compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards. Operators are responsible not only for equipment operation, but also for site setup, hazard identification, confined space awareness, customer interaction, and accurate documentation of work performed.

Requirements

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class A or B).
  • Clean driving record.
  • Ability to obtain Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT physical).
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift 50–75 lbs regularly.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Willingness to work overtime, nights, and occasional weekends.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating JetVac or hydrovac equipment.
  • Knowledge of sewer/storm systems and underground utilities.
  • Confined Space Entry certification.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Tank cleaning or industrial services experience.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate JetVac combination units for sewer and storm drain cleaning.
  • Operate hydrovac excavation units for daylighting, trenching, and precision excavation.
  • Control high-pressure water systems (2,000–3,000+ PSI jetting operations).
  • Operate vacuum systems and debris tanks.
  • Perform safe dumping and disposal procedures at approved facilities.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and routine equipment maintenance.
  • Set up work zones including traffic control, cones, and signage.
  • Identify underground utilities before excavation.
  • Follow confined space entry procedures when applicable.
  • Communicate with supervisors and customers regarding scope and site conditions.
  • Complete job tickets, manifests, and disposal documentation accurately.
  • Assist with hose handling, tool staging, and job site cleanup.
  • Follow all OSHA, DOT, and company safety policies.
  • Wear required PPE at all times.
  • Maintain CDL compliance.
  • Participate in safety meetings and ongoing training.
  • Immediately report incidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions.
