About The Position

As a Propulsion Engineer at our Strother Field site, you will focus on troubleshooting, engineering analysis, and hardware disposition for CFM56, CF34-8, CF34-10, and PP20 engines. You will resolve complex engine issues, develop optimized work scopes, and provide data-driven recommendations that improve engine performance, reliability, and shop efficiency. You will proactively drive cross-functional problem solving and continuous improvement. Ideal Candidate: You are a proactive, hands-on, engineer who enjoys digging into data and solving problems at the root cause. You build meaningful relationships and can work closely with shops and cross-functional teams to keep engines moving through the site safely and efficiently. You demonstrate humility, respect for others, and are motivated by contributing to the team’s success. You thrive in a fast pace environment with common, yet unique problems to solve.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in jet engine workscoping, hardware disposition, or related turbomachinery/rotating equipment engineering OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in jet engine workscoping, hardware disposition, or related turbomachinery/rotating equipment engineering
  • Minimum 1 year of demonstrated experience troubleshooting technical issues in a production, overhaul, or maintenance environment
  • Must pass background checks and drug screenings
  • Role may require lifting and work in varying environmental conditions
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).

Nice To Haves

  • LEAN/Six Sigma or equivalent problem-solving/quality training
  • Proficiency with MS Office and basic engineering analysis tools
  • Experience collaborating in a matrixed, cross-functional environment
  • SAP experience

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve complex engine and hardware issues using data analysis and structured problem-solving (RCA, five-why)
  • Analyze inspection findings and test data to determine repair/replace/reuse dispositions for engine hardware
  • Develop incoming engine work scopes that balance technical requirements, customer needs, cost, and schedule
  • Collaborate with design, quality, and operations to implement corrective actions and drive design or process improvements
  • Provide clear technical guidance and documentation to production teams, internal partners, and customers
  • Complete perfection reviews certifying serviceability of engines
