About The Position

YMCA of Middle Tennessee's Camp Widjiwagan is Now Hiring for a JCD Dietary Cook Position Type: Seasonal -Summer 2026 Pay Range starts at $15 per hour (or more depending on experience) Minimum Age to Apply: 18 Shift: Flexible schedules available (including early mornings, evenings, and weekends) We’re looking for a passionate JCD Dietary Cook to help fuel unforgettable summer camp experiences at Camp Widjiwagan ! Under the direction of our Kitchen Operations Director, you’ll help create safe, high-quality meals while ensuring campers (including those with special dietary needs) have an amazing dining experience .

Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 18
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 3+ years of therapeutic cooking experience preferred
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certification within 30 days of hire; New Hire Orientation before first shift
  • Strong organization, communication skills, and ability to safely operate kitchen equipment

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals, including allergen-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegetarian options
  • Follow medical dietary restrictions and prevent cross-contamination with strict allergen protocols
  • Assist with food prep, service, cleanliness, safety checks, and supply monitoring
