JCC Summer Nurse
About The Position
The Evelyn Rubenstein JCC is seeking a licensed RN, LPN, or EMT for the summer. This individual will be responsible for providing daily health and first aid care to campers and staff. All visits by campers or staff must be logged in accordance with Board of Health regulations. The camp nurse/EMT will also manage medical records, allergies, special medical needs, and medication distribution. They will be the primary point person for all medical emergencies, coordinating additional medical intervention if necessary. The role requires strong medical care skills, as well as excellent organizational abilities and thoroughness to maintain accurate records throughout the summer.
Requirements
- Current certification in EMT/EMS, RN, or LPN
- Current CPR/First Aid certification
- Experience with emergency situations
- Experience with children
Nice To Haves
- EMT/Nursing: 1 year (Preferred)
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily check-in process which includes a short health assessment
- Attend to all medical needs of campers and staff throughout the camp day
- Remain on site at all times and be ready to respond to medical needs
- Communicate with the camp director about any out of the ordinary cases
- Be knowledgeable about the allergies and other special medical conditions of all campers and staff
- Keep records of all care given
- Discretion and protecting every individual’s medical confidentiality are a must
- Attend staff training workshops prior to the camp season
