About The Position
As a Beauty Consultant at JCPenney, you will be responsible for providing a personalized shopping experience to customers by selling beauty products. This role requires leveraging the Connect, Inspire, Engage service model along with your product knowledge to enhance customer interactions. You will proactively approach customers in a friendly manner to engage them, determine their needs, and assist them in making informed buying decisions about desired products. Your ability to share product knowledge and application techniques will be crucial in generating interest and closing sales. Additionally, you will suggest complementary products to customers to increase their basket size and introduce them to Beauty Virtual tools to enhance their shopping experience. In this position, you will also be tasked with meeting or exceeding prescribed sales goals and productivity standards. Engaging customers with the company's Instant Credit Application Process and JCP Rewards and gift card programs will be part of your responsibilities. You will need to listen to customer issues calmly and resolve problems effectively. Understanding the local beauty industry and the competitive landscape will help you provide exceptional service and support diverse and inclusive brands in-store. Operational tasks are also a significant part of this role. You will complete Point of Sale checkout processes, assist with signing and merchandising standards, and utilize Mobile Warrior for line management. Maintaining an organized, clean, and hygienic store environment is essential, and you will participate in various inventory processes, including cycle counts and stock ledger updates. Supporting company shrink and safety initiatives while consistently meeting performance standards will be expected of you. Ongoing skills development through company and vendor training will also be part of your professional growth in this role.
