Parsons Federal is hiring Java / TypeScript software engineers to develop specialized software within a first-class team of developers, computer scientists, and cyber specialists. Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • BS degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related discipline. (A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.)
  • 2 years of professional experience coding in Java and/or TypeScript
  • Experience working in a Linux development environment
  • Experience using Git

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of networking protocols and paradigms
  • JavaScript framework/library experience for example with Angular 9+ or React
  • Web UI framework experience for example with Material-UI
  • Front-end experience with REST APIs, Server Sent Events (SSEs), or web sockets
  • Experience using Node.js, NPM, or similar front-end platforms/package managers
  • Back-end experience with OpenAPI/Swagger, HikariCP, Tomcat, Jakarta EE, or Guice
  • Database experience with Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, or Hadoop Distributed Filesystem (HDFS)
  • DevOps experience with Docker, Ansible, Vagrant, Salt, Libvirt, or VMWare

Responsibilities

  • Analyze requirements to determine feasibility of design
  • Ensure the conversion of requirements, including informal ones, into total systems solutions that balance the technical, schedule, and cost constraints of the program
  • Participate in design and code reviews
  • Write real-time/stream/batch processing software
  • Utilize back-end and/or front-end programming techniques
  • Develop dynamic web-based data visualization and analytic platforms using JavaScript (TypeScript), Angular 11+, Single Page Applications (SPAs), servlets, web sockets, Node Package Manager (NPM), Bootstrap, and REST APIs.
  • Apply Web UI frameworks like Material-UI
  • Design and enhance back-end software using Java, servlets, Extract Transform Load (ETL) pipelines, microservices, message brokers, and scalable databases (Hadoop, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL)
  • Build and deploy software using Python, Gradle, Docker, Vagrant, Ansible, Maven, and/or Bash.
