About The Position

We have partnered with our client in their search for a Java AWS Engineer in Plano, TX. The role involves designing and building scalable and secure backend services using frameworks like Spring Boot. The engineer will develop and maintain RESTful APIs and Microservices, ensuring efficient data flow and building stream processing applications using Apache Kafka. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to ensure seamless integration of backend services.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Core Java/Data structures
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, multi-threading, testing, and operational stability
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies and engineering discipline such as CI/CD, BDD, Application Resiliency, and Security
• Strong proficiency in frameworks like Spring and Hibernate
• Strong proficiency in Infrastructure provisioning using Terraform
• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle)
• Strong proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS), containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines
• In-depth knowledge of Apache Kafka's architecture, configuration, and best practices
• Familiarity with data serialization formats like Avro and JSON
• Strong communication skills and leadership experience
• Developer or Solutions Architect Level AWS Certification
• Experience with Observability tools like Splunk, Datadog, Dynatrace, or Grafana
• Experience with distributed databases such as AWS RDS databases
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

• Experience with React or any front-end UI development
• Willingness to learn React for potential future projects
