Infosys is seeking a Java API Developer/ Backend Software Engineer to support the development of backend services and APIs. The role involves working within an agile team to deliver scalable, maintainable, and secure backend systems using Java Spring Boot. In this role, you will be responsible for driving enhancements and automation of manual workflows, contributing to the development and customization of a case management solution built on a low-code platform, and supporting incident management activities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable solutions across diverse technology stacks. This position also plays a key role in legacy modernization efforts and the integration of emerging digital technologies.

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
  • Implement and manage data persistence using SQL or NoSQL databases.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of backend components.
  • Write and maintain technical documentation for backend systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues in development and production environments.
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
  • Candidate must be located within the commuting distance of St Louis, MO or be willing to relocate to any of this location.

  • At least 4 years of experience with Information Technology.
  • Proven years of hands-on experience with Java Spring Boot, REST API, and microservices.
  • Proficiency and 3+ years of experience in working with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools, version control systems (e.g., Jenkins, Git).
  • Proficient in writing unit and functional test using JUnit.
  • Strong understanding of backend system design and software development best practices.
  • Experience with containerization tools such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk).
  • Familiarity with JIRA task tracking tools.
  • Prefer prior research experience
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Databricks.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong experience working in agile development teams
