About The Position

Kennedy International School provides a bilingual, well-rounded education for its students from preschool through 12th grade. We are looking for a part-time Floater to join our Japanese School for our current school year on Saturdays, starting on April 11, 2026. This role will work until June 20th, 2026. The ideal candidate will be compassionate and self-motivated as well as possessing the innate joy of working with young children. He/she will be devoted to building a nurturing and safe learning environment.
The work schedule will be from 8am – 2:30pm on Saturdays.
This role reports into the Saturday School Director.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification
• Fluency in English and Japanese language required
• A minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience preferred
• Solid understanding of classroom activities and teaching best practices
• Must have a compassionate and positive attitude
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Outstanding interpersonal and presentation abilities

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in education or relevant field is preferred
• Preferred candidate will have a current U.S. work visa, if applicable

Responsibilities

• Teacher assistant
• Work with the lead teacher to monitor the class schedule
• Go over lesson material with students individually or in small groups
• Ensure the classroom environment is safe, clean and tidy
• Oversee students during non-classroom times including in-between classes, during lunch, recess, and on-field excursions
• Distribution of school information and promotional content on social media
• Events support
• Assist with afterschool program where needed
