About The Position

General Natures of Work Under the direction of the Account Manager will plan, direct, and execute the total housekeeping functions at Unum Portland location. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Plans, directs, and executes the total housekeeping function at Unum Columbia/Colonial Life. Conduct training of new employees in proper custodial procedures, and demonstrate new cleaning methods Monitor performance of direct reports and advise Maintenance Supervisor of policy violations and poor work performance Distribute and recover walkie-talkie equipment at beginning/end of shift to ensure protection of equipment. Report all incidents and injuries immediately to Account Manager Operates various powered equipment in the performance of duties Maintains an inventory of cleaning supplies and materials; orders product when additional supplies and materials are needed. Notifies Maintenance Supervisor of needed building repairs Exercises initiative in planning and directing custodial operations to ensure adequate coverage to maintain assigned areas Exercise independence in the performance of responsibilities; work is reviewed through general inspection and observation Manage weekly payroll ensure compliance with payroll policies. Manage labor to ensure overtime is at a minimum and approved in advance. Respond to and resolve various emergency calls and routine calls for service Perform other duties as required Ability To: Assist in instructing and training employees in proper custodial methods and procedures Willingness to lead and perform custodial work Maintain records and complete reports Understand, relay, and follow instructions Understand and follow oral and written directions Work independently with little direction Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others Meet schedules and timelines

Requirements

• Previous commercial janitorial leadership is a requirement.
• Must be able to take direction, to work with minimal supervision, and to function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Requires attention to details, a pride in delivering excellent customer services, good organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.
• Two years of experience/High school diploma or GED
