Janitorial Supervisor- 2nd Shift
About The Position
Responsible for coordinating, scheduling and supervising the activities of the building/facility cleaning staff and ensuring that the cleaners keep offices, hallways, stairs, and other areas within the building in clean and orderly condition by performing basic cleaning duties. May also supervise the performance of the clean-up and basic maintenance of the surrounding grounds and premises. General Natures of Work Under the direction of the Account Manager will plan, direct, and execute the total housekeeping functions at Unum Chattanooga Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Plans, directs, and executes housekeeping functions at Unum Chattanooga Conduct training of new employees in proper custodial procedures, and demonstrate new cleaning methods Monitor performance of direct reports and advise Manager of policy violations and poor work performance Report all incidents and injuries immediately to Account Manager Operates various powered equipment in the performance of duties Maintains an inventory of cleaning supplies and materials; orders product when additional supplies and materials are needed. Notifies Maintenance Supervisor of needed building repairs Exercises initiative in planning and directing custodial operations to ensure adequate coverage to maintain assigned areas Exercise independence in the performance of responsibilities; work is reviewed through general inspection and observation Manage labor to ensure overtime is at a minimum and approved in advance. Respond to and resolve various emergency calls and routine calls for service Perform other duties as required Ability To: Assist in instructing and training employees in proper custodial methods and procedures Willingness to lead and perform custodial work Maintain records and complete reports Understand, relay, and follow instructions Understand and follow oral and written directions Work independently with little direction Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others Meet schedules and time lines
Requirements
- Previous commercial janitorial leadership is a requirement.
- Must be able to take direction, to work with minimal supervision, and to function cooperatively as part of a team.
- Requires attention to details, a pride in delivering excellent customer services, good organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.
- Two years of experience/High school diploma or GED
