CW is seeking a dedicated Site Safety Officer to support our commercial landscaping operations and help maintain the highest standards of safety and performance across our worksites. Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in janitorial, custodial, facilities, or environmental services.
  • Strong understanding of various cleaning techniques, materials, and equipment.
  • Strong understanding of chemical safety, PPE requirements, and equipment operation.
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and safe chemical handling practices.
  • Valid Real ID.
  • Valid Driver License.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain government base access.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 10/30‑hour certification in Construction or General Industry Safety.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and respond effectively to urgent situations.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and a customer‑service‑oriented approach.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine safety inspections of work areas, equipment, storage rooms, and chemical stations.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, company policies, and site‑specific safety requirements.
  • Monitor proper use of PPE, cleaning chemicals, and janitorial equipment.
  • Maintain safety logs, incident reports, and inspection records.
  • Respond to safety concerns, near‑misses, and incidents with proper documentation and follow‑
  • Train staff on safety procedures, chemical handling, equipment use, and emergency protocols.
  • Lead toolbox talks, refresher trainings, and safety briefings.
  • Communicate safety updates, policy changes, and corrective actions to staff and supervisors.
  • Serve as the on‑site contact for safety questions or issues.
  • Work alongside janitorial staff to observe workflows and identify hazards.
  • Assist with safe setup, storage, and operation of janitorial equipment.
  • Support emergency response for spills, biohazards, and equipment issues.
  • Collaborate with site leadership to improve safety processes and reduce risk.
