About The Position

Our not-for-profit social service organization is seeking a Floor Technician to become a valuable member of our Goodwill team! The Janitorial Floor Technician will be responsible for performing janitorial floor work and cleaning assignments on a day-to-day basis according to the specifications stated or as deemed necessary by supervisor.

Requirements

High school graduate or GED preferred
2-5 years of janitorial services, including stripping, waxing, scrubbing, buffing, carpet cleaning, and operating commercial janitorial floor machinery. Must have janitorial floor work experience.
Must be able to work independently after being given a directive.
Must be a self-starter.
Must know chemical and emergency procedures.
Must identify and maintain the various floors installed in industrial and office establishments.
Must be able to locate and operate the typical janitorial commercial floor machines used to clean industrial and office establishments.
Must pass clearance background checks.
Available for Work Schedule: Monday through Friday (9:30 am to 6:00 pm)

Responsibilities

Capable of performing the specific contractual and functional assignments required by the contract and as assigned by the janitorial supervisor, including but not limited to operating floor machines, stripping and waxing floors, scrubbing floors, buffing floors, carpet cleaning, and other janitorial functions as needed.
Keeps equipment clean and operational and follows preventative maintenance schedule.
Wears safety equipment when and where required
Cleans (sweeps, mops, etc.) restrooms, entrances, warehouse, docks, stores, corridors, lobbies, and office floors
Empties trash receptacles daily
Dust appropriate areas
Vacuum carpets
Other duties as assigned
