Provides supervision and coordination of activities of janitorial workforce cleaning for the agency at off site, government contract locations. Requirements

  • Valid driver's license: DMV record insurable at normal rates.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for positive and clear interaction with managers and employees and for completion of documentation in a timely/accurate manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to persuade and motivate others and invoke a positive work atmosphere.
  • Adequate mathematical skills.
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to do repetitious bending at the waist and kneeling.
  • Ability to work from a 6ft. ladder.
  • Computer literate; ability to perform necessary computer tasks on current agency computer programs; ability to complete required training for new programs.
  • High school graduate or have acquired a GED preferred but not required.
  • Janitorial experience.
  • Supervisory experience in a janitorial environment or with a work crew.

Responsibilities

  • Assigning tasks with time and quality expectations to employees, inspects completed work for conformance to quality standards and completes quality control inspection.
  • Issuing supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Resolving employee problems related to tasks or refers them
  • immediate supervisor for one-on-one assistance.
  • Training new employees: records hours worked and evaluating employees to ensure job expectations are met.
  • May requisition cleaning supplies and equipment
  • according to guidelines determined by the Contract Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Sweeps, mops, vacuums, etc.
  • Restock supplies in restrooms.
  • Cleans sinks, toilets, urinals, etc.
  • Ensures compliance with all safety rules/regulations, including those related to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the agency's Human Rights plan. Maintains safe and clean work areas. Ensures that safety is emphasized on a regular basis. Requests for repairs and changes when required.
  • Works with Operations Manager/Supervisor to be sure that the task always meets quality standards. Promptly consults with Operations Manager/Supervisor to correct any deficiencies.
  • Consults with each employee before task commences to ensure maximum quality and labor efficiency throughout entire task.
  • Monitors daily cleaning to be sure tasks are being performed as scheduled. Performs work in progress inspections.
  • Ensures that all supplies are on hand before a task is started and that timely deliveries are scheduled during normal business hours. Consults with manager/supervisor promptly of any foreseen problems.
  • Fully understands the costs associated with the work and consults with manager/supervisor and employees to find improvements and develop efficiencies.
  • Document incidents and problems. Prepare supply list for supplies needed in a timely manner. Insures daily scheduling of each task is correct.
  • Participates in meetings and training courses as required.
  • Adheres to all Agency policies and procedures including policies on discrimination and sexual harassment.
