About The Position

All benefits are subject to enrollment of eligibility and plan provisions. The Janitorial Associate is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the grocery store. This role ensures that the store provides a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for customers and staff. The Janitorial Associate will perform routine cleaning tasks and respond to specific cleaning requests as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 18 years of age or older
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Good communication skills and a customer service-oriented mindset.
- Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Nice To Haves
- Previous janitorial or cleaning experience is an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in all areas of the store, including aisles, restrooms, and break rooms.
- Dust and clean surfaces, shelves, and displays.
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners as needed.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors.
- Replenish restroom supplies (e.g., toilet paper, hand soap, paper towels).
- Clean and sanitize high-touch areas such as door handles, shopping carts, and checkout counters.
- Perform deep cleaning tasks as assigned, including carpet cleaning and floor waxing.
- Clean windows, glass doors, and other glass surfaces.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the store management.
- Ensure cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored.
- Assist with minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed.
- Respond to customer inquiries and provide assistance in a friendly and professional manner.
- Assist customers with locating items or providing directions within the store as needed.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.
- Adhere to the store’s cleaning protocols and procedures.
