Requirements

  • Janitorial Experience, housekeeping, or facility services experience is required
  • Experience: Proven leadership experience in janitorial, commercial cleaning, or facility management is required.
  • Leadership Style: A "hands-on" leader who prefers being active on-site and engaging with staff and clients face-to-face.
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with high-involvement corporate clients.
  • Technical Literacy: Proficient with computers for managing payroll systems, digital inspections, and reporting.
  • Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred to effectively communicate with the majority of the frontline team.
  • Professionalism: Ability to maintain a professional "business casual" presence suitable for a premier Nashville office environment.
  • Logistics: Must be punctual, reliable, and comfortable with a 100% in-person work schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Operations: Direct all daily janitorial functions for a high-profile commercial office building.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, coach, and develop a dedicated team of approximately 30 employees, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for Highwoods Property Management, providing proactive communication and professional presence.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular site walkthroughs to audit cleaning quality, safety compliance, and overall customer satisfaction.
  • Administrative Management: Oversee essential business tasks including payroll, labor tracking, supply ordering (POs), and monthly inspections.
  • Training & Development: Implement modern cleaning standards and train staff on updated protocols to move beyond "the way we’ve always done it."
  • Strategic Growth: Identify opportunities for service improvement and staff scaling as tenant occupancy increases.
  • Flexible Support: Maintain a primary Monday–Friday daytime schedule with occasional evening or night visits to support the 2nd shift team.
