About the position

The Janitor position at East Lake Management involves maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in residential environments. The role is essential for ensuring that common areas meet health standards and provides a safe and pleasant environment for residents and guests. The janitor will perform various cleaning tasks, respond to maintenance requests, and adhere to safety standards while using cleaning equipment and chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Clean hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, common rooms, and other work areas to meet health standards.
• Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies using vacuum cleaners and shampooers.
• Empty wastebaskets, clean ashtrays, and transport trash to disposal areas.
• Carry toilet items and cleaning supplies using wheeled carts.
• Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors using appropriate tools and machines.
• Dust and polish furniture and equipment.
• Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
• Remove debris from the grounds.
• Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork, waxing and polishing as necessary.
• Report maintenance issues to the Property Management office.
• Disinfect equipment and supplies using germicides or steam-operated sterilizers.
• Dust window blinds.
• Observe all safety standards and precautions while performing tasks.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a housekeeper, janitor, or porter in a residential building.
• Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products and their proper use.
• Ability to use standard cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners and floor polishers.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react and address emergency situations in a timely manner.
