About The Position

The Janitor plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all visitors and staff at our Saginaw site. This position involves performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure that the facility meets high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. The Janitor will be responsible for both indoor and outdoor maintenance, including landscaping and lawn care, to enhance the overall appearance of the premises. Additionally, the role requires adherence to safety procedures while handling equipment and materials, ensuring a safe working environment. Ultimately, the Janitor contributes significantly to the organization's mission by creating a pleasant atmosphere that supports the well-being of the community served.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience in janitorial or custodial work, preferably in a commercial setting.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy weights safely.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with safety procedures related to cleaning and maintenance.
• Experience working with computers for inventory management and reporting.
• Knowledge of landscaping and lawn care techniques.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing various areas of the facility.
• Maintain outdoor spaces, including lawn care and landscaping, to ensure a tidy and inviting exterior.
• Handle waste disposal and recycling in accordance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Operate and maintain janitorial equipment and supplies, including box trucks for transporting materials as needed.
• Assist with minor repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure the facility remains in good working order.
