About The Position

The Janitor is responsible for performing heavy cleaning duties to ensure buildings are maintained in a clean and orderly condition. This role involves using a variety of cleaning equipment and chemicals, managing cleaning supplies, and notifying management of major repairs needed. The Janitor II ensures compliance with safety regulations and contributes to a hygienic and safe environment for employees and visitors. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1+ years of experience in a related field. Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and equipment operation.
• Ability to complete scheduled, routine tasks quickly and efficiently without close supervision.
• Must be capable of climbing stairs, ladders, and working on a stationary ladder.
• Familiarity with the safe use of tools and cleaning products.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
• U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment.
• Ability to work on-site.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Ability to stand and walk for most of the work shift.
• Manual dexterity to handle cleaning tools and equipment.
• Ability to work in potentially hazardous or loud environments.
• Ability to travel as required.

Nice To Haves

• Certification in custodial or janitorial services.
• Experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry.
• Familiarity with advanced cleaning equipment and safety procedures.
• Previous experience as a janitor
• Experience working with hand and power tools

Responsibilities

• Clean floors, shampoo rugs, wash walls and glass, remove rubbish, and vacuum areas to maintain cleanliness.
• Follow procedures for the safe use of chemical cleaners and handle hazardous materials responsibly.
• Inspect and repair motorized cleaning equipment to ensure it is in working order.
• Track and manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment needed for maintenance.
• Maintain floor clearing equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
• Report unsafe or items need repair to the facilities team immediately.
