About The Position

Wavelynx is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Janitorial/Facilities Custodian to maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of our building Monday through Friday during the afternoon/evening shift (hours can be flexible). This is an hourly position offering a great opportunity to contribute to a positive and healthy work environment. The schedule consists of 4-hour shifts on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. We are open to discussing flexible start and end times Job Summary: The Janitorial/Facilities Custodian is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure our facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained. This role requires the ability to work independently and efficiently during the evening shift, following established procedures and maintaining high standards of cleanliness.

Requirements

Previous janitorial or cleaning experience
Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances
Knowledge of safe disposal of cleaning chemicals and other hazardous components
Familiarity with basic handyman practices
Ability to work independently and efficiently.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
Good communication skills. Must be able to speak, read, and write in English
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

Ensure spaces are cleaned throughout the day and prepared for the next day.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and floors.
Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in all designated areas.
Clean and disinfect surfaces, including desks, tables, countertops, and doorknobs.
Restock supplies in restrooms and kitchen areas
Clean microwaves, stove tops and refrigerators regularly
Clean windows and mirrors.
Maintain cleanliness of common areas, such as lobbies, hallways, and break rooms.
Spot clean walls and remove any marks or stains.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, fixing door handles, minor leaks.
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor, and oversee repairs.
Maintain a clean and organized janitorial closet.
Secure facilities after operating hours by locking doors, closing windows and setting up the alarm
Undertake occasional custodial and janitorial tasks (shoveling snow from the sidewalk, lifting heavy items, moving chairs etc.)
Other duties as assigned.
