Union Tank Car Company is seeking new employees at our full-service rail tank car repair shop in Altoona, Pennsylvania. The Company’s regulatory, engineering and commercial expertise make UTLX the preferred source of railcars and services for many of its customers. Owned by the Marmon Group and Berkshire Hathaway, UTLX headquarters is in Chicago’s financial district, close to major public transportation hubs. We are looking for a 1st shift Janitor. Base pay $21.01 per hour.

Requirements

Must have janitorial experience; experience in manufacturing/industrial environment preferred.
Must be able to work effectively and efficiently both as a member of a team and independently.
Able to follow written and/or verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
Dependable and reliable to show up for scheduled work shifts including overtime.
Willingness to wear required PPE at all times and always work safely.
Ability to understand and follow UTLX operating procedures and policies based on safety and field training.

Responsibilities

Maintains the appearance, sanitary condition, and cleanliness of plant buildings and grounds.
Performs dusting, wiping, polishing, washing, sweeping, and sanitizing.
Operates equipment such as riding sweepers, lawn mower, and small snow removal equipment.
Maintains area in a neat and orderly manner and reports work hazards.
