Amentum is seeking a Janitor to join our team in Hawthorne, Nevada to support the Hawthorne Army Depot. The Janitor will perform a variety of standard, day-to-day janitorial duties, inside and outside of assigned building(s), as well as periodic clean-up and prep assignment projects relating to base housing and barracks that support operations of the Hawthorne Army Depot. Must be able to obtain/maintain Hawthorne Army Depot (HWAD) site access. Note: Must be a United States citizen or Permanent Resident. Typical Responsibilities Include: Performs a variety of standard, day-to-day janitorial duties, inside and outside assigned building, as well as periodic clean-up and prep assignment projects relating to base housing and barracks. Maintains general cleanliness of restroom facilities. Uses proper cleaning agents to maintain the cleanliness of sinks and commode systems and other lavatory equipment. Under general supervision, sweeps, vacuums, shampoos, mops, strips, and waxes carpet, tile, cement, and linoleum floors, as applicable. Clean and apply appropriate measures to lamanent flooring. Dust and clean interior surfaces. Cleans windows internally and externally. Provide housekeeping as assigned, to include all of the above to housing and barracks to assure cleanliness prior to occupancy. Reads Job Hazard Task Analysis for identifying risks to health and safety during job specific tasks in the work place. Reads and follows Safety Data Sheet guidelines for handling, storage, and disposal of Hazardous Materials. Maintains up to date SDS documents for all chemicals used, as well as maintaining supplies inventory and timely ordering of supplies. Mixes various compounds used in the cleaning of building. Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees. Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations. Reports potential and known safety and environmental concerns to the appropriate personnel or department. May be required to work overtime. Be at work when scheduled and maintain a good attendance record. Ability to work a flexible schedule and shift work. May occasionally perform other duties of higher or lower level of difficulty as assigned.

  • Must have a high school diploma/equivalent.
  • Must be willing and able to be at work when scheduled, maintain a good attendance record and willing to work overtime if required.
  • Must also be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of government security clearance as well as a clearance through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and be favorably vetted through the NCIC III System.
  • Willing and able to wear various levels of personal protective equipment.
  • Good writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to operate a computerized based terminal and have a working knowledge of common software applications.
  • Must maintain fitness-for-duty standards to perform the essential functions of the position, to include any HWAD drill, contingency and/or emergency requirement.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all required training as outlined in Amentum's Master Training Plan.
  • Must be able to perform work duties, routinely, in a safe and effective manner, remaining alert and aware of potential work/safety hazards at all time, and especially alert while performing safety sensitive duties.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State driver's license.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain Hawthorne Army Depot ( HWAD) site access.
  • Note: Must be a United States citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Six (6) months of janitorial service experience preferred but not required.
