About The Position
Accord Federal Services, LLC is a veteran owned government contracting firm with its corporate office located in Knoxville, TN. Their core area of business is facility management and maintenance of federal government properties across the United States. The company has been in operation for over thirteen years and holds existing contracts at various locations nationwide. This specific Janitor position is located at the VA facility in Salisbury, North Carolina. The role involves cleaning and maintaining an orderly condition of assigned areas and washrooms, or premises of an office, VA medical facility, or other government establishment.
Requirements
- MUST be able to pass a standard background check and be cleared to work in a VA Medical Facility
- Functions well around patients, staff and visitors in a clinical setting
- Proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role
- Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances
- Knowledge of safe disposal of chemicals
- Attention to detail and conscientiousness
- Very good physical condition and strength
Nice To Haves
- Military veteran preferred
- High school diploma is preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Cleaning and keeping an orderly condition of assigned areas and washrooms, or premises of an office, VA medical facility, or other government establishment
- Sweeping, mopping or scrubbing, and polishing floors
- Removing chips, trash, and other refuse
- Dusting equipment, furniture, or fixtures
- Polishing metal fixtures or trimmings
- Providing supplies and minor maintenance services
- Cleaning lavatories, showers, and restrooms
- Dust mop and damp mop floors in assigned areas
- Dust chairs in assigned areas
- Clean, disinfect and polish water fountain, front doors glass, frame and thresholds in assigned areas
- Spot clean walls, all doors, door frames, and areas around light switches and magazine racks in assigned areas
- Replace trash liners as required in assigned areas
- Sanitization cleaning of lavatories, all fixtures, floors, toilet seat & bowl (inside and out), mirrors, soap dispensers, trash cans in restrooms
- Cleaning underside of sinks and pipes, faucets, paper towel holders, walls, doorknobs, ledges and light switches in restrooms
- Using hospital grade germicide on sinks and toilets
- Refilling all dispensers in restrooms
- Dust mopping and wet mopping floors with disinfectant/detergent as stated in specifications
- Buffing floors per schedule
