About The Position

The Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This position ensures that the facility meets cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards through routine cleaning and maintenance tasks.

Requirements

  • GED or High School Diploma required.
  • One (1) year of janitorial or housekeeping experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand cleaning procedures and safety instructions.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Ability to recognize problems, use sound judgment, and seek assistance when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness of all common areas, resident rooms, offices, restrooms, and other assigned areas.
  • Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, sinks, floors, and high-touch surfaces according to established procedures.
  • Ensure cleaning supplies are stocked and stored properly; notify administration when supplies are low.
  • Use cleaning equipment and supplies safely and in accordance with manufacturer instructions.
  • Follow all sanitary, safety, and infection control procedures.
  • Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or equipment malfunctions to the Administrator.
  • Assist with special cleaning projects as assigned.
