About The Position

As a Janitor at RWB Thrift, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of our thrift store. Your responsibilities will include cleaning and sanitizing various areas such as the sales floor, restrooms, break rooms, and common areas. This involves performing tasks like sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and wiping down surfaces to uphold high cleanliness standards. You will also empty trash bins and recycling containers, ensuring proper disposal and separation of waste materials. Additionally, you will retrieve shopping carts or baskets from store entrances or parking areas and return them to designated locations for customer use, contributing to a positive shopping experience.

Requirements

  • Capable of safely and effectively performing essential job functions in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting both qualitative and quantitative productivity requirements
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 lbs, frequently exert up to 25 lbs. of force, and constantly apply negligible force when handling objects
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Proficient in performing repetitive motions such as extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction and working primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm
  • Skilled in tasks involving seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hand or hands
  • Capable of maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces, as well as maintaining balance when performing agile tasks
  • Possesses clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more
  • Required to wear closed-toe shoes for safety purposes
  • The job involves regular repetitive motions

  • Previous thrift, retail, warehouse, or customer facing experience is preferred, but not required
