Janitor
About The Position
A Janitor is responsible for the overall cleanliness, sanitation, and maintenance of a building or facility. This role ensures that workspaces, common areas, and restrooms are clean, safe, and well-presented for employees, visitors, and customers. Clean the assigned area which could be an aircraft, building, hospital, warehouse, schools, universities, and other facilities. Duties may include cleaning and maintaining carpets and hard surface floors by vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors. Dusting furniture, pictures, ventilation, lights, and blinds, emptying wastebaskets, cleaning windows, restrooms and other normal cleaning and maintenance duties. Cleaner must be flexible and willing to complete all tasks that are assigned.
Requirements
- Strong attention to detail and pride in work quality.
- Ability to work independently and follow cleaning schedules.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning products and safe handling procedures.
- Reliability, punctuality, and strong work ethic.
Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors, hallways, offices, and common areas.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms; restock supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper).
- Empty trash and recycling bins; replace liners.
- Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.
- Perform routine deep‑cleaning tasks, such as carpet cleaning or floor polishing.
- Maintain break rooms, kitchens, and eating areas.
- Operate basic cleaning equipment (buffers, vacuums, floor scrubbers).
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or needed repairs.
- Refill custodial supply closets and track inventory.
- Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
