The janitor will be responsible for assisting skilled maintenance and construction workers in performing their assigned duties.
Requirements
- High school or equivelant
- General knowledge of cleaning
- Valid driver's license
- Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
- Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
- Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
- Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace
Responsibilities
- Maintains premises
- Ensures rest and working areas of offices, industrial buildings and outer grounds are in clean and orderly condition
- Performs a combination of dusting furniture, walls, fixtures, and equipment
- Sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, waxing, and buffering floors
- Polishing furniture, fixtures, and trimmings
- Using janitorial supplies
- Cleaning lavatories, showers, and rest rooms
- Performs a variety of non-mechanical tasks
- Spends time on the job or may be transferred from task to task as needed
