Job Summary: The janitor is responsible for performing various cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure the facility is clean, safe, and well-maintained. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Key Responsibilities: Cleaning Duties: Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in various areas, including hallways, offices, and restrooms. Dust and wipe down surfaces such as desks, countertops, and furniture. Empty trash bins and replace liners, ensuring proper disposal of waste. Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaners and tools. Restroom Maintenance: Clean and sanitize restroom facilities, including toilets, sinks, and floors. Replenish supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels. Report any maintenance issues such as leaks or broken fixtures to the supervisor. General Upkeep: Monitor building security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created. Assist with the setup and breakdown of rooms for events or meetings. Handle minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed, such as changing light bulbs and unclogging drains. Specialized Cleaning: Use specialized cleaning equipment, such as floor buffers and carpet cleaners, to maintain specific areas. Perform deep cleaning tasks periodically, such as cleaning carpets and upholstery, washing walls, and cleaning ceilings. Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and request additional supplies as needed. Ensure that cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored. Other Duties: Respond to any urgent cleaning needs, such as spills or accidents. Follow established safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe environment for staff and visitors. Perform other related duties as assigned.
