About The Position

St. Joseph Parish in Ypsilanti is accepting applications for a part-time Janitor. Report to: Facilities Director HOURS: Part-time: 19 hrs per week

Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: A minimum of two years’ experience preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Able to meet all hiring requirements of the Diocese of Lansing.
• Must be able to move and load equipment and supplies that weigh 50 pounds or more.
• Must be able to work independently without direct supervision.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, reach, and climb ladders.

Nice To Haves

• Practicing Catholic preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean, sanitize, and straighten public restrooms, worship space, gathering spaces, hallways and classrooms using cleaners, back-pack vacuum, broom, and wet mop.
• Remove/replace trash bags from containers and take to dumpster.
• Set up and take down of tables, chairs, and equipment for events.
• Maintain bathroom supplies, cleaning supplies, and food service supplies.
• Being staff presence on site in case of emergencies to notify first responders and/or supervisor.
• Other duties may be assigned on a project basis.
