This Janitor position is responsible for maintaining a high level of cleanliness in assigned areas, requiring a working knowledge of janitorial practices and terms.

Requirements

• Ability to read or identify names of chemicals on containers
• Experience with proper use of chemicals and equipment
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and random drug screens
• Reliable transportation to get to and from work
• Practical knowledge of custodial work, including cleaning and waxing compounds and mechanical equipment used
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, general business instructions, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Ability to deal with daily operational challenges with a calm demeanor

Responsibilities

• Clean the assigned area to an acceptable level of quality
• Perform restroom cleaning, including cleaning and sanitizing fixtures
• Conduct office cleaning, including vacuuming, dusting high and low, and emptying trash cans
• Execute floor care, such as dust mopping, wet mopping, stripping and scrubbing, and carpet spot cleaning
• Clean computer rooms, glass, and polish furniture, chrome, and stainless steel
• Maintain a safe and clean environment
• Perform all other duties as agreed upon with the Program Coordinator
• Comply with all Agency policies, procedures and safety standards and ensure safety training throughout areas and maintain same to meet CARF, OSHA, Department of Labor and other regulatory standards
