About The Position

The Janitor/Groundskeeper (Night Shift) position at Chenega Government Mission Solutions, LLC involves maintaining cleanliness and order in the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Processing and Holding Modular Buildings at the El Paso Border Patrol Station. This role requires both indoor and outdoor cleaning responsibilities, ensuring that all areas, including grounds and facilities, are kept in excellent condition. The position operates on a night shift schedule, with potential for day shift support during busy periods.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a Chenega and Government background check, including a credit check and drug screening
• Flexibility to work day shifts occasionally during high volume periods
• Knowledge of general cleaning procedures
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and applicable safety practices
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Demonstrate knowledge of safety guidelines and practices
• Ability to perform work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
• Physical ability to stand, walk, stoop, and reach repetitively
• Physical ability to move furniture and operate light equipment
• General knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment, including power-run equipment

Responsibilities

• Disinfect all surfaces indoors
• Sweep non-carpeted floors and damp mop accessible areas
• Damp mop and spray buff tile and resilient flooring areas
• Apply a uniform and non-slip floor finish coating
• Display caution signs when cleaning floors
• Strip and wax all hard surface floors
• Vacuum all carpet-type entrance mats
• Empty and return wastebaskets and cigarette receptacles to their initial location
• Thoroughly dust surfaces and damp wipe mirrors
• Keep porcelain, stainless-steel surfaces and drinking fountains clean
• Spot clean washable surfaces and fixtures
• Re-supply restrooms, locker rooms, kitchen/break areas, and holding cells
• Perform high dusting of Venetian blinds, ceiling fans, and air supply/return vents
• Clean interior and exterior window surfaces and glass
• Clean light fixtures, including the interior and exterior of the fixtures
• Check all interior lighting fixtures and replace burned out bulbs
• Sweep, vacuum, or hose-down outside entrance mats
• Clean grounds, landscape beds, driveways, parking areas, and sidewalks
• Remove empty boxes and cans from the premises
• Hose down outdoor parking areas to remove caked mud and dirt
• Mow grass within the CPC compound area and non-landscaped areas
• Trim grass adjacent to asphalt or concrete walks
• Control and eliminate seeds on building grounds
• Maintain all landscaped areas, including watering shrubs and flowerbeds
• Keep all areas free of leaves
• Clean all asphalt and concrete parking lots and driveways
• Mark off areas being cleaned with traffic cones
• Reduce safety hazards due to ice and snow using provided materials and remove excess sand and rock from sidewalks
