Minimum Qualifications: * Must be able to read and write. * Must be able to cooperate willingly with co-workers, principals, and other school personnel. * Must have the ability to understand and follow simple oral and written instructions. * Must be physically able to perform the duties required of a janitor and be able to pass background check and functional assessment test prior to employment as required by Vermilion Parish School Boar policies and procedures. * Must have the ability to operate vacuum cleaners, scrubbing machines, polishing machines, mowing machines and other janitorial equipment, and carry out minor preventative maintenance practices. * Must have knowledge of the materials, methods and practices used in cleaning operations. * Must have the ability to follow safety measures in the use of various cleaning materials. * Shall perform other duties as assigned by the administration, supervisory staff and head custodian.
